Scientific evidence that Newsweak was wrong?

There is plenty of insightful and well-written commentary on the latest MSM (main-stream media) scandal/failure - Newsweak's inaccurate reporting of alleged Koran abuse by the military. As usual Powerline, Instapundit, and Michelle Malkin are on the job with great coverage - check out some of their recent comments here, here, here, and here. Still, the best response to Newsweak's screw-up is this irrefutable scientific evidence courtesy of Silent Running. The experiment is well-thought out and executed. As a guy who's spent his fair share of time in laboratories, I must say that the choice of test-subject is a stroke of scientific genius. Check it out...
(On a more serious note, how sad is it that the MSM never even raises an eyebrow about routine desecration of the Bible or other sacred symbols of Christianity?)
