Soular rocks!
I've been getting back in touch with some old friends from my Berkner days and it's been really interesting to see how many of my band friends have continued to stay involved in music - some are in church praise bands, others play in local bands, some continue to play in orchestras and symphonic bands, and some have even been able to "make it" as professionals. I got reacquainted with a friend that has really taken music to another level - my friend Marsh is now vocalist/keyboardist for a very cool band, Soular. I was so impressed when I listened to a few tracks from their debut album Love Crash Heal.

They are really talented, hard to pigeonhole, but play what is described by some as "epoch rock." You can hear a little classic rock influence (i.e. Queen, Led Zeppelin) and sense the presence of Beatles and U2 among others. Overall, they are a very talented quartet where their musicianship is actually in danger of being overshadowed by their songwriting. They tour a lot and love to play live. They are the true "hard-working band." Check 'em out. You can find them on iTunes, Amazon.com and wherever you can find indie rock CDs.
Marsh and I were actually in a horrible garage band together for about 5 minutes back in high school. It was not horrible because of Marsh or Rick - our lead guitarist who also went on to do some recording in Nashville - so I guess the process of elimination means that I was the reason our garage band never went anywhere ;)
